Toasted Oak
Go back to a time when the needle hit the groove and real music jumped off the vinyl and made you feel good! Ron and Evan wanted to create a duo/trio/full band that grooves, and is filled with improvisation and musical interludes that is just a bit different. Rock, blues, funk, jazz and country meld together within tunes you know. Smooth in the background, or create a party! Ron had arrived from nearby Orange County and Evan was a recent transplant from Kansas City and New York. Toasted Oak is a duo, a trio or full band, bringing in some of the top musicians in Southern California to join the jam! Special guests regularly sit in as the interactions between musicians is part of the fun!
Evan Conway
Evan grew up in NY and played up and down the east coast. A stint in France and 20 years in the great music town of Kansas City eventually lead to a need for warm weather and wine country. After playing electric on stages across the country, he is loving the sound and feel of acoustic grooves.
Ron Hougardy
Ron has played professionally in Southern California for most of his life. He loves playing the "tough stuff" ranging from R&R, blues, soul and classical music. Bands have included Pour Decisions, T.M.I., Retreads, Sellouts and various tribute bands focused on Jethro Tull, Supertramp and REO Speedwagon. Toasted Oak allows him to stretch out and deliver the goods!
